Celia
She was born and raised in Connemara,County
Galway,Ireland.
She moved to Chicago in the year 2000, and has been singing and playing music since she could
talk. She is a well known traditional irish sean-nos singer and has won all major awards in Ireland,from the All-Ireland Fleadh
Champion 1998,to the prestigious Corn Ui Riada 1999.From these awards she has been asked to sing as a guest on the Late Late
Show with Gay Byrne,sang at the Milwaukee Irish Festival,
appeared on CBS NEWS in 2005 as winner of the Irish American
Idol contest in Chicago sponsored by the Fitzpatrick's Hotel where she beat out singers from all the Irish Bars in Chicago.She
is always giving sean-nos workshops through various universities most recently in February at the University of Wisconsin
and is currently working on finishing a sean-nos cd.She plays guitar mainly irish ballads and country and can play also the
piano,bodhran and tin whistle which she learned from Mary Bergin.Celia says her talent for music is a truly special
gift, and it has brought her a lot of friends, happiness and wonderful experiences and memories,but most of all it was through
music she met her wonderful husband and they both together make music.As a fluent Irish speaker she likes to promote the Irish
language,heritage and traditions.
Marc
He has played
in many groups since the age of 15. The groups include, the Casual Flurries, Defend Me Heaven. etc. Marc has toured across
the United States and abroad.But after meeting his most talented Celia, He decided to stay in one place,. Marc has appeared
on the Irish Music Hour in New York City, also was featured at the Sea Music festival in Mystic Conn. He has played on the
radio program Celtic Sounds in Nova Scotia Canada.
He plays: Irish Bouzouki, Bodhran, Guitar, whistles,
drums, and has taught music for over 20 years.
