A few pictures from a few years back....
Below is a picture of a Galway Hooker
(taken many years ago) (The Galway Hooker (Irish: bád mór
or húicéir) is a traditional sailing boat used in Galway Bay off the west coast of Ireland. The hooker was developed for the strong seas there. It is identified by the sail formation,
which is extremely distinctive and quite beautiful. It consisted of a single mast with a main sail and two foresails. Traditionally,
the boat is black (being coated in pitch) and the sails are a dark red-brown.)
Below is Marc and Celia on their way to Roundstone,
county Galway.
(Roundstone (Irish: Cloch na Rón meaning "Seal's Rock") is a village in
Connemara, County Galway, Ireland, located on the west coast
of Ireland. The town of Clifden, is nearby to the north. The anglicised name is an error on the part of the British colonial Ordnance Survey who translated the village name; while Cloch certainly means Stone or Rock, Rón means Seal, not Round. Still, according to Tim Robinson (in Connemara - Listening to the Wind, 2006) the names Cloch
na Rón and Roundstone may be totally independent. The bay is referred to as Round-stone Haven as early as 1684 (Roderick
O'Flaherty), and the rock after which it is named stands like a marker at the entrance and is strikingly round. The village
has a thriving centre for designer/makers.)
Below is when three ladies came across
us, when we were on our way to visit, "Our lady of Knock" Co. Mayo
The Story of Knock began
on the 21st August 1879 when Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist appeared at the south gable of Knock Parish
Church. The apparition was witnessed by fifteen people, young and old. From this miraculous occurrence Knock has grown to
the status of an internationally recognised Marian Shrine. The personal pilgrimage of Pope John
Paul II in 1979, commemorating the centenary of the apparition, inspired an even greater devotion to the Shrine and endorsed
the indelible seal of Vatican approval. Mother Teresa of Calcutta visited the Shrine in June of 1993. One and a half million
pilgrims visit the Shrine annually.
Below is a picture of "our lady's, first time
on stage".....she actually was in the car seat in between us while we played...rocking..back and forth all the while.....
